LAISSAC

Laissac is a village of Gallo-roman origin (Domain of Lascius). Gallic oppidum, Montmerlhe was occupied by the « Ruthènes » from 150 B.C. to 50 B.C.

The place was managed by the lord of Séverac.

The « Castle » in Laissac was not a seigneurial residence. It was protected by ramparts and moats, and included homes and the residence of the representative of the lord of Séverac (tower).
